Do I need a visa to travel to Canada?
We cannot offer specific advice regarding visa requirements for Canada as everyone’s circumstances are individual but we will do our best to assist in any way that we can. We recommend that you please refer to the official Canadian government immigration website here for the most up to date information.
Please also note the following:
- The IAYMH 2025 conference is registered with the Federal Government of Canada and their Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Special Events Unit
- Once you have registered to attend IAYMH 2025 we can provide you with a letter confirming your registration status that you can include on your visa application
- Find out if you need a visa to travel to Canada here
- If you do require a visa to enter Canada, we recommend that you start your visa application as early as possible. It is not possible to tell in advance exactly how long it will take for your visa application to be processed as each application is different and takes a different amount of time to process but some can take a considerable amount of time (up to 9-12 months in total) so please do start your application as early as possible. Please consult the IRCC website here to get an estimate, based on your application type. Once you have applied for your visa, you can check your application status on this website too.
- You may need to give your fingerprints and photo (biometrics) with your application. You can find out more about biometrics requirements here
- **NB – if attending IAYMH 2025 is your primary reason for travelling to Canada, you must apply for your visa through the IRCC Secure Network here because the Conference Organisers are located outside Canada
